Thunder and brightening
STORMS and sunshine shook up Britain yesterday – and brace yourself for more bolts out of the blue this bank holiday.
In Swansea, the skies lit up while the heavens opened in Barnstaple, Devon.
One beachgoer wrapped herself in a towel in Brighton, squaring up to the showers before the clouds cleared.
In balmy Blackpool, holidaymakers strolled along the prom, prom, prom, although the North West had its fair share of flash floods. But in Essex, there were more paddling pools than puddles.
Forecasters say it will remain humid in most parts today, particularly the South East. But there could be thundery downpours with a risk of hail and winds.
The warm weather will head into next week – but best keep your brolly handy.
