Ellie’s got a crop top
FASHION student Ellie Oldacre’s whacky jacket will really grow on you – because it is lined with cress which sprouts in the rain.
After the plants die they are pressed inside the top to make a pattern.
Finally when her creation wears out it can be planted outside where it will break down and enrich the soil.
Ellie, 22, who will have her “green” gear displayed at Nottingham Trent University, said: “We need clothes less harmful to the environment.”
Fashion lecturer Emma Prince added: “Her range sends a message about sustainability and ethics.”
