weeding I’ve found clusters of round white eggs in the soil. What do you think they could be? Will the hatchlings ruin my plants? Mandy Sullivan, via email afraid it sounds like slugs have been busy laying eggs. Destroy any you come across and put down slug controls to catch any you miss before they ruin your displays. In future, consider digging or forking over soil in winter to expose any eggs so birds and other animals can eat them.
