PEP GUARDIOLA versus Jose Mourinho was billed as the Premier League’s big battle before a ball was kicked.

You can dress it up any way you like, but the only saving grace for Senor Guardiola is a spot in the Champions League. Otherwise he’s had his backside kicked blue.

Jose won two pots – the Community Shield doesn’t count in my book – secured Champions League qualification and, en route to glory, beat the Blues in the League Cup.

What’s more, Manchester United now have positive momentum behind them.
