Gun attack on soldiers

SEVEN American soldiers were injured yesterday when an Afghan commando turned on them with a gun.

The attacker opened fire at Camp Shaheen in northern Afghanistan, which is a base for the Afghan army’s 209th Corps.

Officials said one Afghan soldier was killed but it was not confirmed whether the casualty was the attacker.

The Taliban claimed the attacker was loyal to their group and had opened fire on foreign “invaders”.

Three US soldiers were killed last Sunday when an Afghan soldier opened fire on them at a base in the east of the country.
