Assassins must hang

THIRTY people convicted over the killing of Egypt’s public prosecutor should be put to death, a court in Cairo has recommended.

Hisham Barakat was assassinated in a car bomb attack in June 2015 after a crackdown on Islamists following the overthrow of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Officials had released film of some of the suspects confessing and claiming they were trained in Gaza by Hamas but in court they said they were tortured.
