First Pitch to students

A MUSIC students’ choir last night became the first group to reach the final of BBC1’s new singing talent show Pitch Battle.

Guest judge Will Young watched the last two teams compete in turn by performing his hit Evergreen after four were eliminated.

The play- off was won by Leeds Contemporary Singers, whose choirmaster is their lecturer Craig Lee.

Runners-up LMA Choir, of Liverpool, can still reach next month’s grand final.
