Driver digs 70th gift

DIGGER driver John Storey got a 70th birthday present of a new JCB, with heated seat, air conditioning – and coffee maker.

The £75,000 machine was from his boss Tony Biker, who has also just turned 70.

John said: “It was a great birthday surprise and helped me reminisce about some of the machines I’ve operated for 45 years.”

He added he has no plans to retire from the firm, in Leyburn, North Yorks.

Tony’s son Sam said: “John did a double take.”
