Carrie died of apnoea
SLEEP apnoea triggered Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher’s death, a coroner in the US has revealed.
The disorder, in which breathing stops during sleep, and fatty tissue buildup in her arteries were among several factors.
But the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner- Coroner said there were various “other factors” at play so an exact cause could not be named.
The coroner added that the actress, who died aged 60, had taken multiple drugs before her death.
Fisher’ daughter Billie Lourd told People magazine: “Mom battled drug addiction and mental illness. She ultimately died of it. She was open in her work about social stigmas surrounding these diseases.”
Fisher, Princess Leia in the space saga, was taken ill on a flight from London to LA last December.
