- By Keir Mudie

LABOUR has claimed the Treasury is now packed with a “right-wing clique” that believes in s l ashing pensioners’ rights.

The party said Theresa May’s appointments after the General Election are people who are anti-welfare and pro banks.

Labour Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury Peter Dowd MP said of the PM: “In her bid to cling to power, she has appointed a right-wing clique.

“They want to deregulate the City and scrap winter f uel payments a nd maternity rights.”

He said Liz Truss, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, previously branded free TV licences and winter fuel payments for pensioners as “gimmicks”.
