Labour of Love, Noel Coward Theatre, London (September 15 – December 2) Martin Freeman plays a northern MP obsessed with his image, while Sarah Lancashire is his principled agent. Played out over 25 years, this brand new play is written by James Graham, the man behind the smash Parliamentary hit This House. See noelcowardtheatre.co.uk. Gladiator Games, Museum of London (August 25 – 28) Let the games commence, as London’s only Roman amphitheatre rings out to the crash of clashing swords, spears and armour. The fighting is by Britannia, the reenactment group that worked on 2000 movie Gladiator. For more on the 60-minute show see museumoflondon.org.uk.
