HAIL 4-LEGGED WORKERS

WORKING animals, from police horses and sheepdogs to camels and elephants, were celebrated this week.

International Working Animals Day highlighted the incredible creatures in industries such as transport, search and rescue and farming. More than a billion people rely on working animals for their livelihood but many of them lead tough, short lives.

Sheep dog trials in North Wales and Mountie polo in Canada were some of the events that marked the day around the globe.
