POTTERS DUMP IMBULA

-

MARK HUGHES is dumping £18.3million STOKE flop Giannelli Imbula – after just 28 games in 18 months.

Record buy Imbula is surplus to requirements after a bust-up with Potters boss Hughes over his lack of first-team football since arriving from Porto.

The ex-France Under-21 midfielder (right) was frozen out after starting in City’s FA Cup defeat at home to Wolves in January.

Hughes said: “He’s struggled for a little bit of form and what is required.

“He hasn’t had as many games as he would have liked, and I would’ve liked him to grab his opportunity to stay in the first team.” Imbula, 24, will not be out of work for long with GALATASARAY and TORINO keen to snap him up.

Philipp Wollscheid, Joselu and Bojan Krkic will also make room for new blood.

Glenn Whelan is expected to leave, with ASTON VILLA upping their bid to £800,000.
