Gay blood rule update

THE waiting list for gay and bisexual men to donate blood has dropped from a year to three months.

The move was among measures unveiled by Women and Equalities Minister Justine Greening to boost equality. She said it will boost supplies and tackle “historic prejudices that persist in our laws”.

Ethan Spibey of FreedomToDonate said: “Today’s announcement marks a world- leading blood donation policy for gay and bisexual men.”
