GLUM growers are having to throw away hundreds of tonnes of courgettes – just six months after Britain faced a national shortage.
Soaring summer temperatures have left some farmers with more courgettes than they can flog.
Earlier this year some supermarkets were forced to ration shoppers after freezing weather in the Med devastated crops.
West Sussex-based suppliers Barfoots of Botley said: “We have got 50 per cent more every week than we need.”
