NEWCASTLE’S FLY HOWAY TITLE
Airports and airlines are hitting families with a string of extra charges, including inflated meal and drink prices, long-stay parking costs and last-minute fees for checking in luggage.

James Walker, of customer resolution website Resolver, which compiled the figures for the Sunday People, said: “Airports should give customers a break.”
We looked at how much a family of four could end up spending at Manchester, Birmingham and Gatwick airports. At Gatwick, a week’s long-stay parking this NEWCASTLE has been named Britain’s favourite airport – and Luton the worst.
A passenger poll by cheapflights.co.uk put Newcastle top for cleanliness, toilets and check-in services and second for immigration and disabled access. Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted score low – but are not rated as badly as Luton.
Liverpool is named friendliest airport and Edinburgh is top for disabled access.
Bristol came fifth overall despite being gauged the most “family friendly”.
