Rooney keeps Blues on song

WAYNE ROONEY was on target again as Everton warmed up for the Europa League with a 1-1 draw at Genk.

The striker fired home at the far post, getting on the end of a cross from Sandro after the former Malaga forward broke free on the right.

It was Rooney’s (right) second goal in pre-season after he rejoined the club from Manchester United. He scored against Gor Mahia of Kenya in Everton’s first match of their tour.

The match was the Blues’ final warmup before they take on Ruzomberok at Goodison in the Europa League third qualifying round on Thursday night.
