HOW OASIS HELLRAISER I swapped Cigarettes & Alcohol for bubble baths and candles

Fronting the world’s most talked-about rock band Oasis, then losing it all when they split in 2009, was a humbling experience for Liam.

He went on to form Beady Eye before they also called it a day in 2014. By that point his life had spiralled out of control leading to a £6million divorce from Nicole Appleton.

The 45-year-old rocker tells me he “messed up” his kids’ lives but is still a “top dad”.

Liam is proud father to sons 18-year-old Lennon, with Patsy Kensit, 49, and 16-year-old Gene, with ex-wife Nicole, 42. He is also dad to Molly, 20, from a fling with singer Lisa Moorish, 45, as well as four-year-old Gemma with American journalist Liza Ghorbani.

On his new album As You Were he recounts how his world crumbled when it emerged he had a love child with Liza leading to the breakdown of his marriage to Nicole.

In For What It’s Worth he sings: “Sometimes we lose our way/ I’m sorry for the hurt/ I’ll be the first to say, ‘I made my own mistakes.’”

Reflecting on his chaotic life, Liam explains: “I know my life is full of ups and downs and dramas. I live on the edge. Every now and again I veer into murky waters and I get myself in a lot of s*** and that.

“But I’m not hurting anyone. I haven’t killed anyone and the people I have hurt I guess I’ve made it up with them. Hopefully we can move on with it, especially with my kids anyway. I know I’ve messed their lives up a bit but it’s not the end of the world.

“They are still alive. I’m alive. My mum’s alive and we are all doing well.

“I come from a broken f****** family and it didn’t do me any harm. I’m a top dad. You just have to do the right thing every now and again and no one is perfect.

“Now I’m f****** happy because there is a record out and I can balance it with all the drama.” Our meeting at restaurant Côte in North London’s Highgate has been arranged by 35-year-old, Debbie who sits at another table as we chat. By the second bottle of wine, Liam is gushing about her – in a sort of Liam way.“She is f****** top,” he says. “She is more hardcore than me. When she goes, she goes. I’m old now, I’m like, I think I’ll get off and leave her to it.” Weeks earlier Liam had gone home early at the GQ Awards leaving Debbie to party on.

“I wasn’t up for it at the GQs,” he said. “I can’t do those celebrity things, especially fashion. People winning awards for wearing a tuxedo, are you having a laugh?”

Refocusing on Debbie, he continued: “She was a breath of fresh air, man. She sorted me
