A MUM helped her can­cer-hit daugh­ter face up to her im­pend­ing hair loss by hav­ing her own locks hacked off.

Seren Deverell, five, had waistlength hair and was dubbed the Lit­tle Mer­maid af­ter the Dis­ney char­ac­ter.

But chemo­ther­apy for a rare can­cer meant she would lose it all. So she first had a bob cut, then mum Jenny cropped her hair too as part of Macmil­lan Can­cer Sup­port’s Brave The Shave cam­paign.

Fa­mous snap­per Rankin, whose mum died of can­cer, filmed Seren clip­ping away.

The young­ster is bat­tling Wilms’ tu­mour, which af­fects 80 chil­dren in the UK ev­ery year.
