DON’T BE CHIP AND DIM
HUNDREDS of dogs will never see their owners again because of out-of-date microchip details.
Dogs Trust is urging owners to update their details as hundreds of dogs go missing every day.
Its annual survey shows the lowest number of strays, 66,277, were picked up by authorities nationally since data collection started 20 years ago, thanks to the introduction of compulsory microchipping last year.
But thousands are still destroyed because their owners cannot be traced.
