Arsenal eye up Martial

That has given Wenger a belief that Martial might be open to a switch south and will make his move if he is encouraged to do so.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has claimed Martial is better than he was at 21.

Martial, who joined United from Monaco for £58million in 2015, has not had the easiest of relationships with Mourinho since the Portuguese arrived at Old Trafford a year after he did.

He has started this season in fine form, with five goals and six assists in nine games in all competitions.

Yet he has started only one Premier League game, despite Mourinho hailing his “great improvement”.
