Egypt pills court case

A BRITISH woman in jail in Egypt accused of drug smuggling is expected to appear in court today.

Laura Plummer, 33, from Hull, was arrested at Hurghada airport when 290 tramadol painkiller tablets were found in her bags.

Ms Plummer, who has spent nearly a month in a cell with 25 other women, faces a lengthy prison term if convicted.

It is understood her partner Omar Caboo, 34, has produced evidence that the pills were for his bad back.
