Egypt pills court case

A BRI­TISH woman in jail in Egypt ac­cused of drug smug­gling is ex­pected to ap­pear in court today.

Laura Plum­mer, 33, from Hull, was ar­rested at Hurghada air­port when 290 tra­madol painkiller tablets were found in her bags.

Ms Plum­mer, who has spent nearly a month in a cell with 25 other women, faces a lengthy prison term if con­victed.

It is un­der­stood her part­ner Omar Ca­boo, 34, has pro­duced evidence that the pills were for his bad back.
