Crash kills poker star
BRITAIN’S Queen of Poker has died in a horror crash in heavy fog after her car’s satnav failed.
Emma Fryer, 42, was killed instantly in the Czech Republic, where she was playing in a World Series of Poker Europe event.
The mum-of-two was in a car driven by a friend when the satnav failed to register a roundabout.
The car hit a concrete post in last Saturday night’s crash. The driver was still in a Czech hospital last night.
Emma, of Alsager, Cheshire, had j ust celebrated the wedding of her eldest girl Gemma, 20, and been overjoyed to learn she would be a grandma.
She was nicknamed the Queen of Poker and was set to leave her job at bet365 to follow her dream of fulltime poker-playing.
Her mum Sheila, 60, said: “She was the happiest she had ever been.”
