Iran mum tortured’

- By John Kelly

A FELLOW prisoner has told how the terrified British mum locked up in Iran has been tortured and can barely cope.

Homa Hoodfar, 66, who spent two days in jail with Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe in June, said the mum of one is so desperate she even contemplated suicide.

She said the 38-year-old was hooded and told she would see her three-yearold daughter Gabriella if she signed papers.

Hoodfar said: “She went ahead and signed but they still wouldn’t let her out.”

The North London charity worker has been accused of plotting to topple Iran’s regime. But Mrs ZaghariRatcliffe faces another five years after Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson wrongly suggested she was teaching journalism.

She insists she was on holiday with her daughter visiting her parents.
