Boxer hits shop guard

AN ex- Commonwealth boxing champ punched a security guard who caught him stealing coffee.

Nicky Booth, 37, took three tins of coffee from Waitrose but was stopped by the guard when he returned to take more.

Nottingham magistrates heard Booth, of Hucknall, Notts, has a class A drug problem. He admitted assault and theft in May and was sentenced to a drug rehab course and must pay £285.66 costs and compo.
