Stolen car kills OAP

THE driver of a stolen car killed an elderly motorist in a smash after refusing to stop for police.

The victim, a woman of 70, was at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta hit by the Mercedes AMG estate.

The driver of the stolen car fled on foot and the woman died at the scene on the A24 in Horsham, West Sussex, on Friday. Her passenger, also a woman of 70, had minor injuries.

Officers think the car was taken in a burglary in Goring-by-Sea. It was travelling in convoy with another stolen Mercedes and both cars refused to stop.

It was not being pursued at the time of the smash.
