TV Why Unspeakable was so watchable

CHANNEL 4’s one-off drama Unspeakable posed the question: How well do you know the man you love? When divorced Jo (Indira Varma) moves in with boyfriend Danny (Luke Treadaway) he seems the perfect man. Then she receives an anonymous text suggesting he’s behaved inappropriately with her 11-year-old daughter. “I’m worried about Katie. I think something might have upset her,” Jo tells Danny, carefully studying his reaction. “She’s at that age – not a child,not an adult either,” is his less than reassuring reply. Finally we learn Jo’s ex sent the text. Good to see a complex story told in an hour. Thought-provoking stuff.
