IS bomber mum fury

- By Alan Selby

THE Parsons Green bomber’s foster parents last night slammed the Home Office for keeping them in the dark about his IS ties.

Ron and Penny Jones said warning them could have stopped Ahmed Hassan’s bid to murder London Tube commuters.

Former prison worker Penny, 71, of Sunbury, Surrey, said: “It feels like a total betrayal.”

The Iraqi asylum seeker was one of 269 kids she and ex-labourer Ron, 89, have looked after in 47 years.

Penny added: “He was a perfectionist. The only thing he slipped up on was this bomb – thank God.”

Talented student Hassan, 18, was convicted of attempted murder on Friday after the September 2017 bomb injured 51.

During the trial it emerged that he had told officials he was recruited by IS and trained to kill.
