Blitz oligarchs with tax grab

JOHN McDonnell wants a crackdown on Russian tax dodgers.

The Shadow Chancellor unveiled a five-point plan to tighten up rules that could net the Treasury £1billion.

He said: “We need more action from the top to strengthen any financial sanctions we impose on Russia.”

Mr McDonnell wants the Chancellor to introduce an Offshore Company Property Levy, featured in Labour’s manifesto last year and expected to raise £875million a year from Russian oligarch sources.
