Why aye sore

- Phil Card Cardy

JUNGLE queen Scarlett Moffatt’s posh new neighbours are going ape over her new home.

The angry residents have blasted the star’s newly-built £300,000 pad for failing to fit in with their picturesque village.

One villager said: “It’s an eyesore that sticks out like a sore thumb and lets the village down.

“It’d look better in a field with more land around it. It’s far too modern.

“It’s got hardly any garden and you’re looking out on to other people’s walls.”

Another shocked local, who has lived there 54 years, thought the I’m a Celebrity winner’s home was going to be a bungalow.

Gogglebox favourite Scarlett, 27, moved into the detached four-bedroom house in her native North East a few months ago.

Set on a T-junction in the village, it also has cinema and games rooms, a large open-plan kitchen, a central staircase and plenty of space for her sister to visit.

Scarlett, 27, who is currently on ITV Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, has been living there on her own.

The criticism about her new home comes after Scarlett was blasted for her fitness DVD.

It was revealed her dramatic weight loss last year was due to extreme dieting and bootcamps rather than the exercise regime on her DVD.

Scarlett, of Bishop Auckland, Co Durham, found fame alongside her parents commenting of TV programmes on Channel 4’s Gogglebox.

Last year she said: “I paid off the mortgage on my mum and dad’s house for them. It was the best.

“I wrote them a letter and said, ‘thanks for being mint’, and ‘sorry for leaving fake tan all over the house’, and then I put a cheque in for them.”

But mum Betty said: “Well, she thinks she has paid off our mortgage.

“But it’s actually been put in an ISA for her.”
