ACTOR Jamie Foxx has confirmed his film about boxing world champ Mike Tyson is finally going ahead.

Jamie, 50, who has secured finance for the movie, will play the fighter from the age of 20 to his mid-30s.

The actor, who won an Oscar for his biopic Ray about singer Ray Charles, says the long-awaited movie will be completed in the next couple of years.

Speaking at the Mercedes Benz Viewing Party in Los Angeles , Jamie said: “I know the story, and I am really excited to film this.

“I first met Mike when I was 21, and I started hanging out with him when he was bigger than life.”

The movie will chart Tyson’s turbulent life from the mean streets of New York’s Brooklyn to becoming heavyweight champion and his downfall when he was convicted of rape.

Tyson, 51, said: “I know Jamie will do a good job.” FALCONER Wayne May has been reunited with lost bird Prince, who flew away after a break-in at a rescue centre in Dartford, Kent.
