A 72-miler on no legs
WAR veteran and double leg amputee Duncan Slater began a 72-mile trek to aid cancer charities yesterday.
The EX-RAF sergeant, 41, feared he would never walk again after a 2009 Afghan War bomb blast cost him both limbs.
But the Walking With The Wounded ambassador aims to complete a return trip on Norfolk’s 36-mile Boudicca Way in less than 26 hours.
Duncan has finished gruelling challenges all over the globe, including a Sahara Desert marathon. He is also the first double amputee to ski to the South Pole.
