Flying flag with Pride
DEFIANT villagers flew rainbow Pride flags from their homes after their parish council voted against displaying them officially.
Councillors voted 7-4 against flag flying to mark the LGBT Pride event due to fears it would set a precedent and cause upset.
But 50 flags flew in Ockbrook and Borrowash, Derbys, after pub owner Greg Maskalick, 60, led a call to celebrate diversity.
He said: “The one thing the council haven’t picked up on is demographics have changed tremendously.”
