Sibling Rivalry

Summer holidays meant becoming playmates with the only other children available: usually siblings or maybe visiting cousins. This did not always run smoothly.

Sibling rivalries thrived and if you were unfortunate enough to be the youngest in a family, you were a prime target for being teased, dared and taunted: a pastime in itself for older siblings.

However, summertime bonding created lifelong family memories.
