I’D LIKE TO KNOW Q

I visited the beautiful Trevi Fountain in Rome and know it featured in a film, but I can’t recall the name of it. Can you help? Mrs. B.W., Essex.

A

The Trevi Fountain has featured in a few films including “Roman Holiday”, “La Dolce Vita” and “Three Coins In The Fountain”. Tourists throw coins into the fountain to bring good fortune and a swift return to the city. An estimated 3,000 euros worth are thrown in each day, with the money used to help the needy. It’s illegal to remove any coins.

Q

My friend says a group of parrots is called a pandemonium. Surely it’s just a flock, like any other group of birds? Mrs D.M., Forfar.

A

You’re both correct! As well as a pandemonium, a group of parrots can be called a flock or company.

Q

“Heartbeat” was one of my favourite TV programmes and I am really enjoying watching the repeats. My favourite character is David Stockwell. He is always saying or doing the wrong thing and makes me laugh. I would like to know more about David Lonsdale, who so brilliantly played the character. Mrs J.W., Northampton.

A

Born in Southport in 1963, David Lonsdale has been married since 1993 and has three children. As well as appearing in the police drama “Heartbeat”, he has also had roles in “Coronation Street” and “Casualty”, with a minor part in the movie “The Full Monty”. “Heartbeat” ran on ITV between 1992 and 2010, with Derek Fowlds and William Simons the only main-cast actors for the entire run.
