The People's Friend

Interesting Tale

-

I read the feature “The Story Of Friday Mackenzie” in Special 135 with great interest.

Tekapo is a really lovely spot with lakes, hills and lovely lupins in flower.

My late grandfather came out to New Zealand from Scotland many years ago and was a shepherd in the area. His name was William Mcleod. I don’t think he was a sheep stealer like the person in your article, but who knows? I do remember my two older brothers used to tease the life out of my mother, Janet Mcleod, about this very subject.

New Zealand has it all – mountains, rivers, thermal regions, lakes and gardens. My two daughters have travelled to Great Britain and enjoy reading articles in your magazine as it rekindles memories of places they visited.

Ms F.L., New Zealand.
