Feathered Friend

We were very interested to read about the tame sparrow in a reader’s letter because about 10 months ago Steve, a friend of ours, rescued a hurt baby bird.

The bird likes nothing better than to be hand-fed by Steve and sits for hours on his knee or shoulder.

Steve tried to return his feathered friend to the wild but when he walks into the garden with the bird on his shoulder, it immediately flies straight back indoors again!
