Best Beer
If you enjoy a cold beer, make it a healthy one, says NHS weightloss specialist Dr Sally Norton from www. vavistalife.com. She recommends:
• Avoiding fruit-flavoured beers or ciders which are high in sugar
• Choosing Guinness which contains more fibre and B vitamins and fills you up faster than a lager (with no more calories)
• Looking for a gluten-free beer (such as gluten-free Greene King IPA, Old Speckled Hen and Peroni) if you are gluten intolerant
• Sticking within the 14 units a week alcohol limit to avoid the classic beer belly associated with heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and stroke
