Safe Tanning For Fair Skins
If you’re fair-skinned, sunbathing is not only futile, but also potentially dangerous, as the freckled and pale are more vulnerable to the ultraviolet damage that triggers skin cancer.
But scientists from the USA are working on a new treatment which tans the skin without exposure to harmful UV rays. The molecules in the special cream penetrate the top layers of the skin, targeting the process which controls skin pigmentation which occurs when specialised cells produce melanin (the dark pigment which protects the skin from harmful rays).
The treatment prompts the pigmentation process, leading to a darkening of the skin which lasts 10 days before fading.
