Borrow A Dog
Researchers at Glasgow Caledonian University have found that dog owners over the age of sixty-five walk for 22 minutes or nearly 3,000 more steps every day than people who don’t own a dog, and they are now calling for the NHS to “prescribe” dogs to help this age group remain active in their retirement.
If you don’t or can’t keep a dog, ask your friends and neighbours if you can join them or share their daily dog walking duties.
