Clinical Trials Bring Hope

-

An anti-viral drug called Remdesivir, which was originally developed to tackle the Ebola virus, has shown so much promise in early clinical trials that it has been given the go-ahead as a treatment for COVID-19 patients.

It works by slowing the rate at which the virus replicates itself and appears to shorten recovery time from 15 days to 11. Doctors hope it will not only improve recovery rates but also reduce patient mortality.
