QHow long are the runways at Heathrow Airport?

AYou may know that Heathrow only has two runways – a northern one and a southern one.

The former is nearly 4,000 metres long, while the latter is around 3,700 metres – with both being 50 metres wide.

The northern one is the longest active runway in the UK.

The runways and airport buildings fit into a site that is 1,227 hectares in size.

The huge airport, located to the west of London, has been seen from space before – particularly its runways and lights.

QHow many people actually watch American football event the Super Bowl?

AIt is hard to put a figure on the world reach of the last Super Bowl, which saw Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers.

In the US, the event was watched by an average of 123.4 million people. This makes it the most viewed programme in the country since the moon landing in the 1960s.

One source said a record 202.4 million people watched at least part of the game.

It is thought that music star Taylor Swift attending to watch her partner play for the Kansas City Chiefs helped the viewing figures!

QI’ve always enjoyed playing LEGO® with my grandchildren. When were these blocks first created?

AThe history of LEGO® stems back to the 1930s, when carpenter Ole Kirk Kristiansen began making wooden toys.

The name LEGO® came into being around that time, from the Danish leg godt, which means “play well”.

It wasn’t until the 1940s when the company started using plastics, later creating the essence of the famous bricks that we know and love today.

LEGO® sets evolved over the decades, with kits for adults now even on sale.
