MATERIALS

9 (9, 10, 10, 11, 12) 50 g balls of West Yorkshire Spinners, Pure DK, 100% Falkland Islands Wool in Blackcurra­nt (319). One pair each 3.25 mm (No. 10), 3.75 mm (No. 9) and 4 mm (No. 8) knitting needles; stitch-holders and markers. TENSION

22 sts and 28 rows to 10 cm measured over st-st using 4 mm needles.

2nd & every alt row – P6, K11, P6.

3rd row – TW2, P2, TW2, P3, P2tog, yrn, P1, yrn, P2tog tbl, P3, TW2, P2, TW2.

5th row – TW2, P2, TW2, P2, P2tog, yrn, P3, yrn, P2tog tbl, P2, TW2, P2, TW2.

7th row – TW2, P2, TW2, P1, P2tog, yrn, P5, yrn, P2tog tbl, P1, TW2, P2, TW2.

RIGHT FRONT

With 3.75 mm needles, cast on 49 (55, 61, 67, 73, 79) sts evenly.

1st row (right side) – K2, [P1, K1] to last st, K1.

2nd row – P2, [K1, P1] to last st, P1.

Rep these 2 rib rows 4 times more, then 1st row again ★★.

Next row (wrong side) – Purl inc once at side edge on 1st, 2nd and 3rd sizes only – 50 (56, 62, 67, 73, 79) sts ★★★. Change to 4 mm needles and patt:

1st row (right side) –K2, P1, work 23 sts from 1st row of Panel, P1, knit to end.

2nd row – P24 (30, 36, 41, 47, 53), work 2nd row of Panel, P3.

3rd to 10th rows – Rep 1st and 2nd rows 4 times but working 3rd-10th rows of Panel.

These 10 rows set patt. Cont in patt until work measures 34 cm measured through centre of work, ending at side edge.

Shape raglan –

1st row (wrong side) – Cast off 3 (4, 4, 5, 5, 6) sts loosely, patt to end – 47 (52, 58, 62, 68, 73) sts.

2nd row – Patt until 3 sts rem, K2tog, K1.

3rd row – K1, P2tog, patt to end.

4th row – Patt until 3 sts rem, K2tog, K1.
