Holbeach game is postponed

-

LAST night’s United Counties League Premier Division game between Holbeach and Daventry United at Daventry was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

Holbeach are also scheduled to play tomorrow when they are due to visit local rivals Deeping Rangers.

NORTHERN Star are holding trials on Saturday as they seek to fill the five remaining places on their new Academy programme.

The scheme will be run at the club’s Chestnut Avenue base by director of football Domenico Genovese.

It’s aim is to encourage more 16 and 17 year-olds from around here into the professional or semi-professional game while also providing the opportunity of further education and a route into future employment.

The trials are open to anyone aged 16 or 17 on August 31 this year. They are being held at the Focus Centre between 11.30am to 1.30pm on Saturday.
