Lewis is out to prove his critics wrong

-

JOE Lewis is determined to prove his Posh doubters wrong.

The former England Under 21 goalkeeper (pictured) is seeking a new club after his Posh contract expired at the end of the season.

He recognises that he was not universally rated at London Road, but he remains confident in his own ability.

Lewis (24), who was a regular in three Posh promotions following a then club record £400,000 transfer from Norwich in January 2008, said: “You are always going to have fans who don’t rate you whoever you are, but as a goalkeeper that is magnified.

“I am sure many people have doubted me and I hope that over the next few seasons I can prove them wrong.

“Now is the right time to leave. I am pleased to have been part of the club’s recent success and to have been involved in so many promotions. “As for my future, my agent is talking to clubs and hopefully things will happen in the next month or so.”
