Road flood alert as river level high

A SECOND flood warning has been issued for a stretch of the River Nene near Peterborough. The Environment Agency has said high river levels are putting the B1040 betweenthorney and Whittlesey at risk of flooding to the south of the Nene. The warning was issued on Saturday and river levels are expected to remain high until this evening. This joins a flood warning issued onthursday, May 3 for North Bank Road, in Peterborough.
