Shoppers will be urged to study

-

A NEW bid is to be made to encourage adults in Peterborough to find a place at university.

Staff from the Open University will be at Serpentine Green Shopping Centre, in Hampton, on Saturday to tell shoppers about the university and the courses and benefits it offers.

A spokesman said: “The Open University is offering people who are thinking of studying, the opportunity to be inspired by talking to tutors directly, in a relaxed and informal environment and to ask any questions they may have about studying with the OU.

“It will provide an opportunity to find out more about the more than 100 qualifications that the OU offers, what is available in the Peterborough area and how study can be fitted around work and family life.”

The event will run from 9am to 6pm and appointments are not necessary.

More than 4,000 people in the Peterborough area are already studying with The Open University with some studying to improve career options, others to make up for lost educational opportunities and others simply to stretch the mind. For details visit www. opennearyou.co.uk.
