Pet caring duo to walk for charity
TWO charity workers are preparing themselves for a gruelling 100k walk in a bid to raise funds for the animals in their care.
Tom O’connell (32) and Mark Anderson (41) from Wood Green, The Animals Charity, near Godmanchester will leave from Richmond, on the banks of the Thames on Saturday to walk through a marshalled route along footpaths, bridleways, and national trails crossing the North and South Downs through the night before arriving in Brighton.
Mark said: “I have completed long distance walks before for Wood Green but they have always been broken down into manageable sections. Having to walk continuously through day and night for what could be over 24 hours will be a real test of both mental and physical strength.”
The team hope to raise £2,000 for Wood Green which will go towards the care of the 5,000 animals the charity takes in each year.
