Magic Moody ends the Whittlesey blues

- By ALAN SWANN

WHITTLESEY second team were in a much better ‘Moody’ than normal as they tasted a rare Rutland League success.

The local lads didn’t win a single Division Seven game last summer and they won just one in 2010 so Sunday’s three-run success over Long Sutton seconds was a great occasion for a side full of game young kids.

It didn’t look like they would have much to celebrate though as their 10-man team was shot out for just 88, but Dale Moody’s 5-39 helped skittle Sutton for 85.

The celebrations were just as loud at Ketton after their six-wicket Division Three win over Castor, although it was the losing skipper making most of the noise.
