Coombe pro­duces a five-star per­for­mance

AN­THONY Coombe was the out­stand­ing per­former for City of Peter­bor­ough Swim­ming Club (COPS) at the West Suf­folk Open.

The 14 year-old won five gold medals at Bury St Ed­munds in the 50m and 100m freestyle, 50m back­stroke and 50m and 200m breast­stroke. Coombe didn’t fin­ish out­side the medals in any of his 11 events over the week­end, also win­ning four sil­ver medals and two bronze.

A 23-strong trav­el­ling party from COPS won six other gold medals with Mad­die Far­ley (12) and Ge­or­gia Speech­ley (14) win­ning two each.
