Coombe produces a five-star performance
ANTHONY Coombe was the outstanding performer for City of Peterborough Swimming Club (COPS) at the West Suffolk Open.
The 14 year-old won five gold medals at Bury St Edmunds in the 50m and 100m freestyle, 50m backstroke and 50m and 200m breaststroke. Coombe didn’t finish outside the medals in any of his 11 events over the weekend, also winning four silver medals and two bronze.
A 23-strong travelling party from COPS won six other gold medals with Maddie Farley (12) and Georgia Speechley (14) winning two each.
Farley struck gold in the 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke, while Speechley touched first in the
HARD MAN: Jozef Sladock.
